What else can you tell me about it?
Not much, just kidding – again. Not going to lie, I am way out of my depth here but here goes. The general idea behind plant growth is based on different colours of the light spectrum. You might already know that white light from the sun is actually made up of all the colours of the rainbow and that the three major colours of light are red, blue, and green.
Plants don’t absorb much green light because it reflects off them and into our eyes, this is what makes them appear green. The fact that leaves don’t usually appear blue or red means that they absorb those parts of the light spectrum and use them to grow. The effect of blue light on plants is directly related to chlorophyll production.
Plants that receive plenty of blue light will have strong, healthy stems and leaves. Red light is responsible for making plants flower and produce fruit. It’s also essential to a plant’s early life for seed germination, root growth, and bulb development. There you go, how’s that?
We’re very excited about this development, and none more than SJ who loves his indoor plants.
