Mecca Flagship / Hugh Davies
Mecca Flagship has been labelled the biggest retail opening in Melbourne for 100 years, and the world’s biggest beauty destination

Here’s a peek behind the scenes when lighting for Mecca Flagship.

Mecca’s three-storey, 4000-square-metre megastore in the centre of Bourke Street Mall is an Australian business success story for the ages. You’ve probably seen the press of this next-level space that champions local talent and keeps the heritage of the building. After 2 years of planning and making, it’s fair to say we spent a lot of time watching this incredible space come to life, from preparing and customising fixtures, to angling lights through to commissioning Casambi at the end. So, we thought we’d share some images of the ambo fambo (and other collaborators) on site.

But give me some key Mecca Bourke Street stats

They are stocking over 200 brands, will also offer a whopping 80 guest services and over 300 staff have been recruited.

Where is MECCA’s new Melbourne Flagship store located?

The new MECCA store is housed at 299 Bourke Street. From 1883 to 1929, the site was home to Edward William Cole’s iconic Cole’s Book Arcade. A massiver-than-massive congrats to Mecca and all involved. We’re very proud to have been a part of the journey (ambience has collaborated on over 110 Stores to date). Run, do not walk to this place. Find out more about the flagship store here. We’ll be posting interior pics on our projects page soon.
