Here’s a snapshot of 5 killer Casambi collabs from the team at ambience
Casambi is a flexible Bluetooth-based smart lighting control/dimming system. ambience was an enthusiastic early adopter in not just programming it for spaces, but also integrating Casambi in our products. It has set new standards in user interaction with light. Here are some of our recent highlights using this technology
1: Inspire Pilates, Beaconsfield
A finalist at the 2024 Casambi Awards, Inspire Pilates is a fascinating marriage of design, psychology, emotion and human response. ambience performed numerous light level experiments to perfect scenes using Casambi according to how the space was going to be habituated. This resulted in lighting being incredibly adaptable and versatile across various events and classes. These include dedicated scenes for pregnancy class, workshops, strength classes and of course, something a little different for cheeky drinks after dark.
2. Sarah & Sebastian, Melbourne Flagship
Sarah & Sebastian’s first Melbourne flagship is on Exhibition Street in the city’s historic Paris end. The location is their biggest space to date, and embodies understated luxury, promising an immersive retail experience. The space is accentuated by custom lighting to create illusions of depth. The luminaires feature both RGBW & tunable white light sources and are controlled by separate Casambi modules providing flexibility for their various illumination outputs. 3. Nagnata Flagship, Byron Bay
This project was a finalist at the 2023 Casambi Awards, as well as taking out a number of other accolades. All the lighting throughout Nagnata is controlled using Casambi, from the linear lighting overhead to the track lights highlighting products, to accent illumination. Even the front window displays utilize Casambi to integrate within the themes. ambience ran a coloured gradient through the entire location from window displays to Phillips Hue RGB in the fitting rooms to marry in with the linear fittings. An incredible feat technically and visually.
Swatch, Melbourne
The use of Casambi was a focal point at Swatch, Melbourne. Illumination highlights include the metal-framed acrylic lightbox and illuminated fabric, set to animated interchanging scenes, programmed with Casambi. The gradient design was made possible by individually controlled LED strips. R + D and pre-wiring for the execution was done at ambience HQ and rest put together on site.
Fox Friday Brewery
With the lighting design for Fox Friday, ambience took tired brewery cliches and held them over a barrel. Using Casambi Bluetooth control, the main custom overhead RGBW showcases pendants in sunken channels that are designed to look as if they are hovering when the retractable roof is peeled back. They change colour throughout the day and align with fixtures in other dining rooms and the brewery space at the back.
