Did you love glow-in-the-dark when you were a kid?
Glow-in-the-dark toys are powered by phosphors.
These are different chemical compounds that give off visible light after being radiated by an energy source.
Phosphorescent materials then continue to glow [and baffle and excite kids, and man-children] after their energy source (light) has disappeared.
