ambience is excited to announce that Tridonic has been awarded a Cradle to Cradle Certified in Bronze Sustainability Certificate for creating sustainable lighting components.
Sharing a like-minded goal, Tridonic’s ambition is not only to manufacture products using sustainable and environmentally friendly materials but to encourage other companies and partners to get on board with the initiative. Says Nikita Kalia, Head of Products, Innovation & Sustainability at ambience,
“We’re elated to see one of our long-running LED partners Tridonic being the trailblazers in the Circular Economy space globally.”
Cradle to Cradle Certified is the global standard for products that are safe, circular, and responsibly made. Cradle to Cradle Certified assesses the safety, circularity, and responsibility of materials and products across five categories of sustainability performance: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness.
The LED module range is already available with our Pure 3 Linear Lighting Systems. The Pure 3 range of Planlicht is the perfect marriage of architecture and engineering.
Tridonic’s journey to achieve the C2C Certified milestone began with a feasibility study from EPEA Switzerland and an intensive and highly successful pilot program over eight months.
“C2C is a comprehensive concept and therefore very challenging, but it is also an expedient way to implement sustainability in the company. At Tridonic, we believe that C2C will take the lighting industry further down the road to sustainability,” says Hugh Rohner, CEO of Tridonic.
When it comes to improving your output, it can be daunting for a business, but the C2C Certified certificate provides the industry with milestones and a framework for doing things better, and tangible evidence to chart their progress in the re-design and application of more environmentally conscious products.
“It’s a huge systemic change and all we need to do is take some initial steps. This is one such great step. Kudos to Tridonic!” adds Kalia.
