For well over a decade, ambience been lucky enough to collaborate on the illumination design and supply of dozens of projects with the Aesop team. This long-term commitment is critical and has helped us to understand and deliver on the brand’s ethos. The space at Aesop Chadstone is an updated iteration from the original opening in 2018 and showcases “surfaces of varied density and texture that coexist within a uniform ochre palette, inspired by the oxidised skin of Australia’s rocky horizons; while the walls, clad in a render of recycled glass, glint like quartz embedded in the earth”.
The perfect luminaires to complement such a space are from the andro lighting range. andro exists to serve the design community and forward-thinking material, finishes and components both internal and external are crucial.

andro housing is made from a combination of recycled lighting waste, new waste and new raw material for both diecast and extrusion alloy-based designs. At Aesop Chadstone we see andros in semi recessed xs and xx versions in polished steel finish. It’s also used to accent the signage. The project also features decibel from the Australian-made Symphony Lighting range.
Another hallmark of the space must be the custom moulded fiberglass pendant, illuminated using Boost from Symphony Lighting. This bespoke piece was wonderfully crafted by EMAC.
