Overhead Lighting Grid System For Country Road Brisbane

The  Country Road Group latest flagship store opening at Queen Street Mall, Brisbane is set in an awesome heritage-listed Bank Building. Blending history with modern design, the store features original marble floors, a grand atrium, bespoke rugs by local artisans, and a staircase inspired by Queenslander homes.

The store is targeting 5 Star Green Star certification, and in the past we have helped Country Road deliver Australia’s first 5-star rating for a retail store.

Designed in collaboration with Maloney Architects, the illumination hallmark of Country Road Brisbane is of course the overhead lighting grid system. It started as a model of intersecting lines and luminous zones – mapped to balance product lighting, existing structure, and architectural rhythm. It brings a sense of daylight deep into the interior of the old bank building.

The Grid consists of illuminated stretch fabric from FAB, illuminated using the made in Australia Symphony Lighting, and integrated with luminaires from andro. If you’d like to discuss creating an overhead lighting system for your space, reach out
